Story by Judy Dunn. Emmy takes care of a newborn lamb named Timothy, whose mother doesn't have enough milk to sustain him. Readers see Emmy cuddling the lamb, feeding him with a bottle, bathing him, and frolicking with him until Timothy is old enough to rejoin the flock. Though the story's a bit wordy, its old-fashioned simplicity is appealing. Surprisingly, the photographs don't look too dated.

Stories by Judy Dunn Spangenberg. This collection includes six stories from the 1970s and 1980s: The Little Duck, The Little Lamb, The Little Rabbit, The Little Kitten, The Little Puppy, and The Little Pig. Though the tales have a sameness of plot, their sweet, old-fashioned simplicity is appealing. The photographs, which suprisingly don't look too dated, would have benefited from a higher-quality coated paper.
